rustic blueprints fading gently
flowing down my garden ledge
getting trapped on rocks and branches
before they reach the river's edge
they shred and wrinkle on the concrete
pasted down by human feet
then scrapple loose from feet oncoming
until in rippled rivers meet
and when the river says they're welcome
enter then from earth to be
along with waters swiftly flowing
towards the rough and rising sea
O feel yourself cross tides and current
spill with created wave once more
reaching out to land and beaches
but falling backwards o'er and o'er
out on drift now circling wheeling
tossed about by stormy gales
black rain slaps at Neptune's daughter
naked, bleeding, scarred, and pale
